The digital twin technology is one of the fastest-growing ideas in Industry 4.0, thanks to the rapid rise of IoT and cloud computing and the rising aspiration to slash costs and speed up product development. There is a heightened need for data literate professionals who know how to structure, model and solve real-life management problems in Supply Chain and Operations.

The National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) in Mumbai, one of India’s most prestigious management schools, has brought a great opportunity for all Supply Chain aficionados by launching the Global Online Certification Course on ‘Modelling and Building Digital Supply Chain Twins using anyLogistix’ in association with Prof. Dmitry Ivanov (Professor of Supply Chain and Operations Management, Berlin School of Economics and Law) under the unparalleled leadership of Prof. Manoj Tiwari (Director, NITIE). It is a 21-hour course, from 25th to 27th March and 7th to 10th April 2022. The course has been curated for industry professionals, academicians, and students.

The course will help the participants to learn the digital twin perspective of supply chain optimization using anyLogistix software. Using case studies, participants will learn about supply chain management by building anyLogistix models for supply chain design and resilience analysis. The course will also emphasize on models to determine the optimal location for warehouses, comparison of alternative network designs using network optimization, real-time simulations of supply chains and operations management scenarios, and analyzing supply chain behavior during uncertainty and disruption.

Since 2021, NITIE has successfully observed more than eleven thousand participations worldwide in Global Online Certification Courses in domains of Analytics, Business Digitization, Data Science and Supply Chain Management. The Global Courses had participation from prominent organizations like P&G, HUL, ITC, Deloitte, Micron, Sun Pharma, ABB, Mondelez, MG Motors, Cipla, John Deere, SAIL, HPCL, as well as top educational institutions such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, NMIMS Mumbai, IIT Bombay, NIT Calicut, University of Warwick, University of London, and others.

The Government of India established NITIE in 1963 to develop transformative education and industry-inspired research, thereby assisting Indian enterprises in expanding their global presence. Prof. Manoj Tiwari, the Director of NITIE, is pioneering this endeavour, with vast experience in optimization, simulation, and computational intelligence of complex supply chain networks. Prof. Dmitry Ivanov is a renowned Professor of Supply Chain and Operations Management at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin), deputy director and executive board member of the Institute (IfL) at HWR Berlin, and faculty director of M.A. Global Supply Chain and Operations Management programme at HWR Berlin. He is a recipient of the Commended Paper award at the International Journal of Production Economics (2020) and the Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher Award (2021).
