On Monday, CM Soren introduced an ex-gratia quantity of Rs 10 lakh to the subsequent of kin of Ankita, who succumbed to accidents a day earlier.

“My daughter would have been alive had the compensation been given earlier by the CM. We may have taken her for higher therapy,” mentioned Sanjeev Singh, Ankita’s father.

The incident happened on August 23 in Dumka city of Jharkhand. The accused Shahrukh allegedly poured petrol on Ankita from exterior the window of her room when she was sleeping and set her afire.

The lady was admitted to a hospital with 90 per cent burns. She died on Sunday, August 28.
