Irked over the unabated Maoist violence of their localities, the villagers demolished Mao effigy and memorials and surrendered earlier than the police

As many as 150 energetic members of Maoists who act as sympathisers and informers surrendered earlier than the Malkangiri Superintendent of Police and Deputy Inspector of Basic (DIG) of Border Safety Drive (BSF) at Swabhiman Anchal of Malkangiri district on Monday.

Influenced by the federal government’s welfare schemes and power’s combing operations, Maoists surrendered earlier than the police. As per data, all of them are from Ralegeda Panchayat underneath Chitrakonda Police limits.

BSF DIG, S.Okay Sinha mentioned, “150 Naxals have surrendered. I welcome all of the Naxals into the mainstream. The truth is, it’s their residence and so they have come again to their houses and I congratulate them. Now, due to such actions by their give up, the event which is already going down in that space shall be expedited. Roads are being constructed, colleges, police stations, cellular towers and a Panchayat Bhawan are developing. So, it is a superb motion on their half.”
