Gurugram police arrested three members of a gang for duping folks by assuring house supply of liquor.
Three accused, recognized as Aaqib Javed, Taslim Khan and Sabir Khan, natives of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, have been nabbed following a criticism by a sufferer on July 25.
The sufferer, in a criticism filed on the cyber crime police station (east), stated he obtained a message on his cellphone about house supply of liquor and he positioned an order value Rs 11,717 by way of a hyperlink despatched by the accused.
The accused allegedly despatched him one other hyperlink asking him to make a cost of Rs 10 in direction of the service cost. Nevertheless, because the sufferer clicked on the hyperlink, Rs 93,380 was debited from his account, police stated. The sufferer misplaced Rs 1,05,097 in whole, the police revealed.
As per the PTI, ACP Preet Pal Singh Sangwan stated the accused cheated a number of folks on the pretext of shopping for and promoting automobiles on-line.
“Aaqib and Taslim Khan used to contact folks by sending them on-line hyperlinks and calls by way of numerous mediums like SMS, WhatsApp and many others. After receiving the quantity of their account, they used to withdraw the cash from ATM and POS machines. Sabir Khan used to supply financial institution accounts and SIM playing cards with faux KYC. On perusal of the checking account utilized by them, it has been discovered that they’ve cheated folks to the tune of Rs 25 lakh within the final 15 days,” the ACP stated, including the account has been frozen.
The accused have been additionally in sextortion, revealed the police.
