Gas Leak In Industrial Area Near Visakhapatnam, 50 Hospitalised

Not less than 50 employees fell sick in the present day after a fuel leak at an attire manufacturing unit within the Brandix Particular Financial Zone in Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalle district. The employees complained of nausea and vomiting after the fuel leak.

The employees – all ladies, in keeping with information company PTI – had been administered first assist within the medical centre on the SEZ and later shifted to close by hospitals.

“The fuel leak reportedly befell on the premises of Brandix. 50 individuals have been shifted to hospitals, and evacuation is underway on the premises,” stated Superintendent of Police, Anakapalle.

The same incident occurred within the district on June 3 when greater than 200 ladies employees fell unconscious after complaining of eyesore, nausea, and vomiting. Officers suspect that ammonia fuel leaked from the Porus Laboratories unit within the space.

A crew of specialists from the Indian Institute of Chemical Know-how in Hyderabad visited the lab and carried out checks to find out the reason for the leak whereas the state Air pollution Management Board ordered the closure of the lab.
