Former Congress minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu has been arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau in relation to a rip-off in grain markets. Sources confirmed that he, alongside together with his subordinates, allegedly executed a transport rip-off. Fees towards the previous minister alleged irregularities in issuing tender bids for grain lifting in Ludhiana.

Allegations state that Bhushan, his private assistant and transporters, had executed a rip-off by itemizing scooters, low industrial autos and vehicles as vans to assert transport subsidies. Experiences recommend that irregularities summed as much as the tune of Rs 2000 crore.

Whereas Bhushan has pleaded for his innocence and requested authorities to not title him in a ‘false’ case, fees underneath sections 420 (dishonest), 409 (legal breach of belief), 467 (forgery of worthwhile safety), 468 (forgery for the aim of dishonest), 471 (utilizing cast paperwork as real), 120B (legal conspiracy).

Bhushan was the MLA from Ludhiana West in 2012 and 2017 and the minister for meals provides underneath the previous Congress Cupboard in Punjab underneath former chief ministers Captain Amarinder Singh and Charanjit Singh Channi. He misplaced his seat within the 2022 Punjab Meeting polls.
